How To Control Your Thermostat With Your Smartphone

Come winter time, there are two things that happen in our house.

Thermostat

Hunter Fan’s Universal Internet Thermostat received. This post contains affiliate links. I will be compensated if you make a purchase after clicking on my links.

Tésa is trying to stay warm in any way possible and I am trying to find a way to keep our heating bill as low as it can be! That’s why I’m excited about Hunter Fan’s Universal Internet Thermostat.

This thermostat works with pretty much every type of HVAC system and can help you save big money all year round. The cool feature about this Universal Internet Thermostat is that you are able to control your settings (temperatures for heat and cool) from online or from your smart phone.

There are many times that the ability to change your temperature from your phone would come in handy, especially since you can set your app to notify you when the temperature rises or drops above a preset temperature.

This could work out perfectly for when you leave the house on vacation for a week or even a couple of days and you forget to adjust your thermostat. Speaking of vacation, this is a perfect thermostat and app for anyone who owns a vacation home, this allows you to keep the temperature where you want it based on the outside temperatures, or when you are visiting again. Also, this could be a great tool for anyone with elderly parents, you can take care of everything for your parents and do it all from the convenience of your smart phone.

The install was very easy, it was up in less than 5 minutes.

Thermostat ReviewFirst screw the back plate to the wall, making sure to use the included level on the back plate. Then simply set the 4 wires in the corresponding spots, attach the front, and that part is done. Finally you plug the gateway into your wireless router and an outlet, and the install is done!

Setting up the app is very simple too, just create an account, type in your personalized code for the thermostat, and you are done. Less than five minutes to start saving some money.

At a reasonable retail price of $99.99 this thermostat is less expensive than their competitors and easier to install too. The first three months of internet connectivity are free, after that to use the options it is a $9.99 fee per year or a cost of $49.99 for a product lifetime of connectivity.

The Hunter Universal Internet Thermostat is a great way to save money and keep your house at the proper temperature settings.

Supermom,It could be a number of tihngs. I will tell you all the tihngs I know of that could cause that and you will have to play the process of elimination to figure it out.You may have let it rise to long, sometimes it doesn’t need to completely rise before you put it in the oven and will rise a little in the oven. You may have put in to much yeast, cut it back slightly and see what happens. If you are using all-purpose white flour, you might try bread flour to see if this improves it. All-purpose flour doesn’t always hold form as well. (let me know if you do not know what bread flour is and I will explain it)Yeast may not be fresh enough, may need to buy new yeast. I store my yeast in the freezer to keep it fresh longer. It may need a little more flour, maybe 1/8 to 1/4 cup more.Let us know if any of these suggestions helped, it will help others to hear the solution to your issue. Thanks

Because my thermostat developed a problem, I noticed this unit and bought it. Installation was easy. Then I learned the thing is USELESS without internet connection. I am relatively satisfied with a programmable thermostat – this one is, but only through the internet. OK, I thought I would just set the time and run it in manual mode – oops! can’t set the time without the internet. The wireless feature would not connect because my router is too far away from the thermostat. I had to open my closed network because the MAC address is not available for the thermostat. Really poor execution of an attractive thermostat.

Interesting unit, but it wouldn’t fit in the area where my thermostat is locaed without some major remodeling or relocating.

I love having a programmable thermostat! I don’t have one that is internet ready, but that is one neat feature. Thanks for the review.

Did you put it together or your husband? Just curious. As I get older I find that I’m less inclined to try new things which need to be put together. Although your directions are easy, I’d still be nervous to try something like that myself. And I’m single, so I don’t have a backup.

I love the idea of installing this in my mom’s home! Great idea!! I always worry about her and now I would know it ok. she has a tendency to switch it up or down and then forgets that she changed it. Thanks for the review! I can’t wait to tell my husband to pick one up.

Wow technology amazes me more and more every day. We need to get a digital thermometer ours is so old.

How cool is that?! I’m completely bookmarking this. When we get a new home, if we have an old thermostat in it or one without features, I’m totally getting one of these!

*I* think these sound so cool. My husband looks at these and says “ugh those need batteries and cost more money to run” He’s kind of a grouchy old man in a 37 year old’s body. I think technology should be part of keeping our homes maintained- easy access!

I love this thing! How cool that it can be controlled remotely — and I also like that I could install it myself. Great review! (Oh, and I like those big numbers too!)

This thermostat sounds really cool! I like that you can control it all from an app.

Oh I want one of those!!! I hate having to get up and go find that silly thermometer to find out the temperature in my house and see if it’s actually cold or if it’s just me! lol. If it’s actually cold then I could just fix the temperature without having to walk to the other end of the house. If it’s just me…well….who knows a cure for that??

That is so cool that you can control the settings from your smart phone! It would be great if you forget to change the heat or air when you leave the house for vacation!

Sounds like me! I am always cold, but definitely worried about the bill. I usually layer up and look like a person of Walmart. That thermostat looks awesome!!!

Hey there! I’m Tesa, the mom behind 2 Wired 2 Tired. The blog originally got its name because my husband, Dave, and I had two kids born a year apart. Back then, we always joked that “the kids were too wired and we were too tired.”

Fast forward to today—those two kids are navigating college life (how did that happen so fast?!), and our house is a little quieter. But the story didn't stop there. Now that I'm a 50+ mom and an empty nester-in-training, the definition of 2 Wired 2 Tired has evolved.

Today I'm wired for new adventures, Disney magic, smart technology, and unforgettable travel experiences and I’m completely tired of bad gadgets, boring trips!

Whether you're a midlife mom looking for the ultimate 50+ Disney World guide, planning a relaxing Michigan Lake Life getaway, organizing a college dorm packing list, or just looking for a killer recipe to enjoy with a great book, you're in the right place.

The chaotic toddler years might be behind us, but the fun (and the coffee) is always brewing around here. Let's tackle this next exciting chapter together!
