How to Keep 2 Toddlers Busy – Indoor Picnic

19 Flares 19 Flares ×

We’ve been under the weather around here. One of our favorite ways to pass the time when we’re trapped inside is to have a picnic for lunch or dinner. I spread a big beach towel out and the kids get a kick out of eating on the floor. I try to pick easy to eat foods so there’s little mess – usually grilled cheese and apple slices does the trick.

Here’s a few photos of our last picnic:

Kora’s being a cheeseball with her grilled cheese.

Logan’s trying to be a cheeseball with his sister.

Got some smiles this time!

Great idea! I'll be filing this away for when Tyler's a little older. Nothing like "breaking the rules" and eating at somewhere other than the table.

  4. Why is eating on the floor so much more fun??

What a terrific idea! My daughter would love this and with the long Winter ahead, anything to keep her occupied inside while it's storming outside is a big help.

    Thanks for posting!

  34. How fun! We like to have inside picnics too. Pizza is our food of choice, and of course, usually an episode of Caillou or Thomas is involved as well.
