Happy Baby Puffs – Review

When my oldest, Mackenzie, was a baby it seemed like we were buying puffs by the crateful. Emma has been eating solids for just a couple months now and we have recently started giving her puffs and other baby “goodies” to eat. When I was contacted about the Happy Baby Puffs I knew a little girl that would love to try them out.

Happy Baby Puffs are gluten free organic melt in your mouth puffs for babies. They are made with whole grains, supplemented with vitamins and minerals, and come in green packaging.

Happy Baby Puffs offer 40% more in each container than other brands which is helpful for busy families like us. In my experience, running out of puffs can turn into a crisis situation, especially on a day full of errands, so more puffs for the money always makes me happy!

Happy Baby sent us Strawberry, Sweet Potato and Greens puffs to try. Of course, big sister Mackenzie needed to sample them as well. Since Emma isn’t able to tell me how they tasted, I gave Mackenzie one of each of the different flavors without telling her what each one was. She said the strawberry tasted like strawberry, sweet potato tasted like squash and the greens tasted like salad. So, overall she was pretty close to tasting what each of the puffs were supposed to taste like.

I tasted them also (and really, how many parents haven’t eaten puffs at some point in their child’s life?) and didn’t think that they really tasted like much. The sweet potato ones did taste like sweet potatoes but the other two were pretty bland in my opinion, but that may be the appeal for babies. First finger foods, aren’t usually full of spice and flavor in most cases. They did melt pretty quickly in my mouth which made me more comfortable in giving them to Emma.

Emma is still getting the hang of self-feeding so I broke each of the puffs in half for her. She was pretty excited about them and even broken in half they were still big enough for her to pick up herself.

She didn’t seem to show a preference for one of the flavors over the others, but she did gobble them all down and was pretty upset when they were all gone!

Happy Baby has a whole line of organic baby foods ranging from puffs, first foods fruit and veggie purees, fresh frozen whole dinners and toddler foods. They are an environmentally and socially conscientious company that promotes green packaging to reduce their carbon footprint as well as working with non-profits to help feed children in Malawi.

As we are venturing into the years of purchasing large quantities of baby snacks, Happy Baby products will definitely be among our favorites for providing high quality, good tasting (at least to the kids eating them!), organic goodies made by a company focusing on doing what is right, for my girls.

Thank you to Happy Baby for providing the puffs for review. No compensation was received. The opinions are mine and that of my family.
