Gotta Love Chevy NEO (Northeast Ohio)

Just before I left for my big walk last weekend, I received a phone call asking if I would like to test drive a Chevy Malibu for a month in the Gotta Love Chevy NEO Girlfriend Getaway program.

Of course I said yes!

It was an easy decision that couldn’t have come at a better time.

Tired Dad Dave is transitioning from working in an office to becoming a work-at-home dad. While I was away, he closed up his mortgage business and will now be working out of our house. Needless to say money has been a little tight and we haven’t been able to get either of our current cars into the mechanic for tune-ups.

However, by the end of the month I have faith that Tired Dad Dave’s new business venture will work out well and while  we’ll be sad to have to give the Malibu back, we won’t blink at the mechanic fees to fix the other cars.

I also predict 6 months down the road we will be driving new cars altogether. So this opportunity presented to us by Chevy will give us a good idea of whether the Malibu will be in the running for our next new car purchase.

When the team from Lavery Chevy pulled up in the Malibu, I don’t know who was more excited about it being so new and shiny – me or the kids!

Terry was extremely helpful in walking me through all the incredible features the car has to offer. And after having it for a couple of days we’ve been impressed with each one of them – from the remote start,  On Star, and XM Radio, to the telescoping steering wheel, automatic climate control, and split rear-folding seats – it’s all been so luxurious.

Kora, Logan, and I recently took the Malibu out to run a few errands. Here are the kids offering their preschool perspective on the new car:

Our first excursion was lots of fun and there will be many more to come. I’ll be posting about this month-long test drive a couple times a week here on 2 Wired 2 Tired.  I’ll also be writing about our experiences with the car alongside two other Northeast Ohio bloggers -  Amelia from Chef’s Widow and Allison from Confessions of a Cohabitant – at Gotta Love Chevy NEO.  If you like things short and sweet, you can follow all our antics on Twitter at #ggneo and @chevyneo. You’ll find everyone on Facebook too. So stop by and say hi!

In the meantime, while I’ve got the Malibu and I’m testing it out as a possible future family purchase, I’m looking for input from you.

What things do you look for when test driving a new car?

Thank you to Chevy for selecting me as part of the Gotta Love Chevy NEO Girlfriend Getaway Program,  for the Chevy Malibu for review,  and gift cards to cover  weekly expeditions. No compensation was received.

Than is fantastic and I look for how comfotable the seats are, how cold the air condtioning is and how it handles when you drive. Plus the gas usage too.
