Embassy Suites Winston-Salem Review

Recently we took a road trip from Cleveland down to Charleston, South Carolina. It was a 12 hour drive so we decided to split it up and stay at the Embassy Suites in Winston-Salem, N.C.

We had never been to Winston-Salem before so we were interested to see what the town had to offer. As we pulled off the highway and drove into town, we were greeted with a nice drive into town on rolling roads surrounded by office buildings.

Winston-Salem We pulled up to the Embassy Suites and were pleased with the location.

Embassy Suites Winston Salem It was on a corner across from the Benton Convention Center and only one block from the University of North Carolina. The hotel was surrounded by tree lined streets peppered with a variety of restaurants and shopping. We were pleased to see that many people were taking advantage of the beautiful weather and dining outdoors.

Winston Salem Not much dining on this street, but the overhanging trees were really pretty.

We pulled into the parking garage and headed into the lobby to check in. We were surprised to see that there is a fee for parking but it wasn’t high and from the looks of the bustling area, parking was at premium which to us, was a good sign.

I headed into the lobby to check in and found it to be warm and inviting. The water feature was unexpected and beautiful.

After we got our keys we took a quick tour of the hotel. There is a nice a 24-hour fitness center, an indoor pool, SilkRoad Salon & Spa, and a convenient business center as well.

Embassy Suites Fitness The Grille Restaurant looked nice and I was so excited to see a Starbucks right inside the hotel!

Embassy Suites Grille As we headed to our room we were amazed to walk through the 8,300 square foot, 8-story Garden Atrium which holds 600 guests for receptions. It also has a glass elevator which Kora & Logan loved.

A large living room with pullout out couch and flat-screen tv and a table that would be great for dining or as a desk for business travelers.

Embassy Suites Bathroom

Embassy Suites Bathroom Review I loved that the sink was included inside the bathroom as well. So many hotels these days are putting the sink into the bedroom making it separate from the bathroom. I never like this because I get up earlier than everyone else  in my family to shower and dry my hair and put on my makeup. I can’t do either without a mirror and when the sink is outside the bathroom I inevitably wake everyone else up.

So I greatly appreciated that the Embassy Suites offered a full bathroom.

We were also pleased to see our room overlooked the Garden Atrium and we had wonderful, unique views from our two balconies.

Embassy Suites Atrium I made a video tour of the room as well to give you a better feel for it.

The next morning we enjoyed a fantastic cooked-to-order complimentary breakfast. There was a chef on hand to make omelets, there was a variety of hot foods to choose from, as well as a nice selection of breads, pastries, cereals, and a delicious array of fresh fruit.

The breakfast was delicious and we were glad we had the chance to enjoy such a wonderful meal first thing in the morning before we hit the road again.

We enjoyed our stay at the Embassy Suites in Winston-Salem and would recommend it to anyone in the area. It’s a beautiful hotel with a courteous staff and many wonderful amenities. The rooms are spacious, warm, and offer many of the comforts of home. It was the perfect place to stay along our road trip allowing us to get even more out of our vacation.
