As much as I’d like to live by the above mantra that “A clean house is a sign of a wasted life,” I just can’t do it. I grew up in a family that washed the baseboards weekly. My grandma used to get out her broom to sweep her carpet to make sure all the lines went the same way.
Every time I do decide to let my house go a bit and “just sit back to enjoy life”, it always backfires on me. I end up doing twice the amount of work trying to play catch up and then I get angry and disgusted at the filth. Mind you, I know my version of filth is far different then most people’s, but it still aggravates me to think of the kids playing on a carpeted floor that has been trampled by our snow covered dog or to see the dishes piling up in the sink.
So needless to say I was born and bred a Cleaner. I try to keep up with the housework daily and even though it may not always look like it, something gets vacuumed, dusted, swept, mopped, or washed every day. You would think it would be good for the kids to grow up in a “clean” house, but instead all those chemicals in the cleaning solutions are turning out to be harmful.
I always want the best for Kora and Logan and I don’t want growing up in a clean house to be hazardous to their health. So when EcoStore contacted me for a product review I was happy to oblige.
Ecostore believes in No Nasty Chemicals. The website states, “Our eco friendly, plant-based household cleaning products are as effective as the leading supermarket brands, and our body and baby care ranges are gentle on your skin and are simply beautiful to use.”
I was sent the Cream Cleanser which when combined with a damp paper towel cleaned my tabletops and counters beautifully. In fact, I have an old kitchen with an over-the-counter mounted sink. The grime that develops in the crack between the sink frame and the countertop always irks me and is so difficult to get clean. The Cream Cleanser did the trick though. In one quick swoop, that area of my sink looked better than it has in ages. The smell of the Cleanser was wonderful too – a Lemony fresh scent that I enjoyed. *Edited with update – I have since used the Cream Cleanser on my glasstop stove and the result was remarkable. The Cleanser got stubborn stains off the top of the stove that I thought I’d have to look at forever. Now it looks like new!
