As a busy mom I’m always looking for quick and easy ways to serve delicious meals for our family. Kora & Logan are very active and involved in a number of different sports and activities and once school starts we get really crunched for time in the evenings. That’s why I was excited to be offered the chance to work with Jimmy Dean Delights on this sponsored post to receive some items from their Lunch & Dinner line and share our honest opinions with you. These new items that will be launching in August.
For the first time ever, Jimmy Dean, the popular breakfast sausage brand is expanding beyond breakfast and offering lunch and dinner options. There are 16 frozen varieties available in the line and I’m looking forward to trying them all. They offer a quick and easy way to serve slow-cooker and homestyle flavored meals right from the microwave. We received a number of the items to try including:
- Delights Pulled Chicken Sandwich
- Delights Roasted Turkey Bowl
- Heritage Pulled Pork on a Biscuit
- Heritage Grilled Steak Bowl
First I tried the Delights Pulled Chicken Sandwich.
The pulled chicken is in a sweet and tangy barbecue sauce on a honey wheat bun. I enjoyed how flavorful it was and I found it filling as well. Dave would have to have a side as well, but for me these two little sandwiches were the perfect size and delicious too.
Next up I tried the Pulled Pork on a Biscuit.
I’m a sucker for a good biscuit and I always love Jimmy Dean’s breakfast sandwiches with sausage and biscuits so I had high hopes for this. I was excited to find the buttermilk biscuit was just as I’d hoped and the slow cooked pulled pork is wonderful. I was happy to find it basking in the same barbecue sauce as the pulled chicken sandwich which was a good thing since I already knew I liked it.
For dinner one evening I gave the Delights Roasted Turkey Bowl a try.
I was pleased to see it came with potatoes, carrots, celery, in a creamy herb sauce. It was a great dinner for me and it reminded me of a homemade leftover Thanksgiving meal. The turkey was delicious and the vegetables all added additional flavor.
Finally I tried the Grilled Steak Bowl.
This picture of this bowl on the box looked fantastic and I was happy to see that the bowl itself was just as full of ingredients as the photo displayed. The grilled steak came with golden potatoes, peppers, and onions in a savory beef sauce. It was such a nice change for a quick dinner and it really hit the spot on a cooler evening. I could see enjoying this often during the cold winter months. It’s hearty and filling and good comfort food.
I was pleased with all of these Jimmy Dean Delights Lunch & Dinner Items and will be adding them to our shopping lists once they hit store shelves in early August. The sandwiches are a great change from my typical pb & j and the bowls are delicious ways to feed the family quickly and I look forward to enjoying them often especially in the cooler months.
