We’re here! We have been counting down the days to the Disney Social Media Moms Conference and it’s finally here! It’s snowy and cold in Michigan and we were excited to pay the conference fee to attend. We had such an unforgettable trip that I am excited to share our experience.
We arrived to the Disney Social Media Moms 2012 Celebration yesterday. We checked into our extended stay vacation home with Global Resort Homes and spent the day swimming and enjoying the sunshine. This morning we woke up bright and early and headed over to the Disney Social Media Moms 2012 Hospitality Room in the Yacht Club.
It was there that I had a chance to meet some of the incredible women behind the event. It was wonderful taking a few minutes to chat with them and to express my thanks and amazement at their incredible planning skills. After some enjoyable conversation and catching up I picked up our lanyards, park tickets, and goody bags.
Then we were off to check-in to our Yacht Club room. We were thrilled it was ready s0 early. It’s a lovely large room complete with a touch of Disney decor.
We headed off to enjoy the day at the parks heading first to Epcot to ride Kora’s favorite ride Soarin’ and to check out the beautiful landscaping and topiaries thanks to the Epcot Flower & Garden Festival.
The topiaries are beautiful and this sand castle for the Disney Chimpanzee movie is amazing!
As the morning flew by, it wasn’t long before the 90 degree heat was taking it’s toll. So we headed back to swim, grab lunch, and rest up for a big night!
That evening I was excited to make my way over to the Disney Social Media Moms Passport to the World Cocktail Reception. It was a fun event that gave the bloggers time to connect with one another, learn about Disney’s Aulani Resort in Hawaii and Adventures by Disney, win some great giveaway prizes, and enjoy delicious appetizers.
After the cocktail reception we all made our way to the beach area between Disney’s Yacht Club and Beach Club resorts where met up with our families for a fantastic dinner and pirate-themed entertainment.
The Swashbuckler Soiree and Family Dinner by Disney Jr. was a fun family event.
The food was delicious. I took a little bit of everything so I could try it all. My favorite was the Mahi Mahi. Kora and Logan were thrilled about the Mickey Mouse mac & cheese. And Dave couldn’t get enough of the chicken and the ribs.
And dessert was a big hit – Mickey Mouse cookies, Mickey Mouse ice cream, and even bananas foster. Yum!
The activities and entertainment were fun for the kids. A band of pirates provided background music, Disney Jr. had a dance party, and characters from Jake and the Neverland Pirates made appearances. There was even a treasure hunt for the kids led by a crew of pirates.
I can’t way to see what’s in store for tomorrow!
