I have thrilling news to announce! I was selected by Energizer® as Cleveland’s Keep Going® Blogger for the Susan G. Komen 3-Day for the Cure® . I will be one of only 15 other bloggers in the nation with this honor.
The Susan G. Komen 3-Day for the Cure is an event where participants walk 60 miles over the course of 3 days to raise funds to end breast cancer forever. I will be walking in the Cleveland Susan G. Komen 3-Day for the Cure which will take place on July 30 – August 1, 2010.
As the Keep Going Blogger, I will be blogging, tweeting, and updating my Facebook status throughout the training process and along the actual event itself as well.
The Susan G. Komen events always hold special meaning to me because my aunt, Roberta Pringle, passed away from breast cancer in 2001. “Bertie” was my mother’s older sister and not long after her passing, my mother and I talked about participating in Susan G. Komen 3-Day for the Cure in her honor. Unfortunately, the logistics didn’t work out for us initially and as the years passed my mother injured her hip and now is not able to walk such a distance.
I applied to be the Keep Going Blogger for Cleveland because I have always wanted to participate in the Susan G. Komen 3-day for the Cure and thought this was a wonderful opportunity to help promote a cause that has touched my family.
As I’m training and at the event itself, I look forward to meeting many other walkers and listening to their stories and learning about why they walk. I will have the chance to record these stories and I will be able to share them with you. I also hope to learn from the other walkers some of their preparation tips for such an mammoth undertaking as well as their thoughts at the walk once it is upon us.
I know I will be inspired by those I meet and the event itself. As Cleveland’s Keep Going Blogger I hope to inspire you, my readers, as well. I’m incredibly excited about this event and am looking forward to sharing my experiences with you.
Not only will you be able to read posts here at 2 Wired 2 Tired, but also on my Cleveland parenting blog, Westside Cleveland Mom. I will also be tweeting at 2Wired2Tired and WClevelandMom as well as updating my Facebook status.

Thank you to Energizer® for the selecting me as Cleveland’s Keep Going® Blogger.

I’m learning more and more about you and am very impressed. You are such a kind and caring person who gives so much of yourself. I’m sure you met and helped many people during this event. It really does mean a great deal to me that people volunteer at these functions seeing I am a very long-term cancer survivor myself.
