Did you know that International Friendship Day is on July 30th? What a wonderful thing to celebrate! Friends are important parts of our lives and slowing down to take this day to recognize them can be heartwarming, meaningful, and memorable. My sister is one of my best friends and I’m so thankful and lucky to have been able to move to live close to her and her family. Our kids are growing up together and it’s been incredible.
Awhile back Kora came down with a scary high fever. It was the very early in the morning about 4 am (because, of course, isn’t that when things like this always happen?) and her temperature was over 103. Within 20 minutes or so it climbed to 105. Panicked, we knew we needed to rush her to the emergency room and thankfully we were able to drop Logan off with my sister. It was so early and we were in such a rush I felt bad, but being a mom too she completely understood and there was no hesitation or question.
Thankfully everything turned out fine and since Kora had no other symptoms and her fever had come down to below 100 after being there a bit, the emergency room doctors were not worried about it. They sent us home and said to keep an eye on her and to come back in if anything popped up. By the time we got home she was nearly her normal perky self. And by that evening you would have never known she was in the ER that day or had a fever that high.
I was so glad that my sister was there for us when this happened and I’ve been thrilled to be able to repay the favor by watching her kids whenever she needs me to. It’s amazing having such a great sister and one who is so close by that she deserves to be recognized this International Friendship Day.
I was inspired to write this post because I’m working with Ricola and they sent me the info about International Friendship Day as well as some fascinating facts about Ricola.
Did you know that:
Ricola drops capture the goodness of nature, the power of Chruterchraft (their secret blend of 10 Swiss herbs), and the balance of taste and results?
Ricola is a family run company headquartered in Laufen, Switzerland with more than 40 different ranges of herb drops and teas that can be found in over 50 countries?
Ricola works with over 100 self-managed farms throughout Switzerland to source traditionally cultivated herbs, free of pesticides, herbicides, and of the finest quality?
I like to keep Ricola Original Drops on hand especially during the summer months when allergies seem to leave us with scratchy throats and coughs. They do the trick and allow us to fully enjoy time with our friends.
