Since moving to Michigan one of my favorite things to do with my mom and sister is explore all the local bakeries. We are happily surrounded by many delicious bakeries! However, when we walked into Cake Crumbs Bakery in Southfield, Michigan we knew we had found a new favorite. Just take a look at these cakes!
I first heard of Cake Crumbs because the son of the owner is on the Food Network Kids Baking Championship. Kora, Logan, and I love that show and were excited to see a local kid baking for a chance to win!
Ever since discovering the bakery, we’ve been there multiple times. Their cupcakes are amazing! The flavors change frequently so there is always something new, some of our favorites include:
- Granny’s German Chocolate
- Salted Caramel Cheesecake
- Bourbon Bumpy Cake
- Very Very Vanilla
- Dressed In Red
- Pineapple Down Upside
- Strawberries & Cream
- Banana Pudding Baby
Cake Crumbs also have a wide variety of classes too. Kora took a cookie and cupcake decorating class this winter and look how cute everything turned out!
She also participated in their Teen Cupcake Wars which was so much fun! They baked cupcakes with secret ingredients (Kora’s was pretzels) and had a carnival theme for their buttercream – Kora added all kinds of colorful cereal to her buttercream, it was delicious! On top of that they learned how to make dessert imposters cupcakes.
They taught Kora how to make cupcakes that looked like pizza, nachos, spaghetti & meatballs, and a cheeseburger.
We can’t say enough about Cake Crumbs Bakery in Southfield, Michigan and highly recommend stopping in when you are in the area. It’s the perfect place for a delicious sweet treat, custom cakes, and impressive classes. We love it so much that we find any reason to pop in whenever we are within a few miles of the bakery and often hop in the car to take a trip there whenever our sweet tooth strikes.
