That’s why we were excited about the Better Homes and Gardens New Junior Cookbook. It starts with a basics section that includes how to read a recipe, measure ingredients and identify cooking tools.
The recipes all fall under categories such as Breakfast, Lunch, Snacks, Dinner, Dessert and Celebrate. They are great for beginning cooks.
While the very beginner may need some help around the oven and cutting items up, the recipes are easy to follow for the older child with delightful names such as Baked Potato Boulders and Boogie Board Bites. Each recipe includes a photo and added illustrations to make them extra fun for the kids.
We made both the Fruit Fizzies and the Rainbow Fruit Pizza, which were perfect for my daughters Rainbow Birthday Party.
While we altered the recipe a bit to suit the kids personal tastes, they had a blast making them and declared the recipes and the Better Homes and Gardens New Junior Cook Book a hit.
My granddaughter loves baking treats! She would have lots of fun with this!
