High School graduation – I remember this, it seems like it was light years ago, but at the time it was such a big deal, fun yet exciting. Going to college brought an entire different number of concerns. Where do I get my books? How are my teachers going to be? How can I afford 4 years of this?
Now there are so many options available for college students to be, technology is wonderful in this regard, the downfall is more time spent looking at our phones and tablets! Check out some of these best college apps for those High School graduates who are moving on to college.
Intel Educational Study App (formerly Kno Textbooks) – books are expensive, I remember the shock of moving into my dorm room and making a trip to the bookstore to buy my books for class . . . getting beat up for over $400 in 1994 was crazy, books can cost more now. Intel has this really cool app which will let you buy digital versions of your textbooks for 30-50% off the regular price. That can really add up quick. Use your tablet or laptop for your books and you can be well on your way, while saving big $$$$.
RateMyProfessors.com – this used to be an app, now it is only accessible by visiting their site. You are able to select your school, and your educational field and see the professors at that school that have been reviewed or rated by other students. This gives you access to the opinions of other students who have taken these professors classes in the past. This is an awesome approach compared to going in blind. Reviewers input their grade for the class and then rate the professor on Helpfulness, Clarity, and Easiness. Keep in mind that not everyone will have the same experience, but it gives you a good place to start.
Scholly – There is so much scholarship money out there every year that groups have a difficult time giving away. This app and site will ease the process of finding and targeting specific scholarships that fit you. Scholly helps you find the money and helps you win that money to help you pay for school. This is a great app for everyone – from newbies, undergrads, graduate level and everywhere in between. This is a must to check out, no matter what your situation is, graduate college with less debt to pay back.
There are so many helpful apps and sites for students, check these out and let me know if there are any you have used that have helped you in the past, so we can add them to our best college apps list.
