Backyard Safari Outfitters – Fun Outdoor Toys

Kora & Logan are not fans of bugs. In fact, Logan thinks every fly he sees is a bee and runs away in fear. They don’t think ants are neat to watch, they try to stomp them, and they are always yelling for me to kill this spiders (one of the perks of being at home all day – there’s a lot more spiders in your house then you’d think).

So when I recently received a set of outdoor bug focused toys from Backyard Safari Outfitters, I wasn’t sure how interested the kids would be in them.

The first thing we unpacked was the Land and Water Mega View Periscope.

This periscope is impressive in size and can reach over 4 feet high. While too large for my 3- and 4- year old, I think it may be a big hit when they are older. I can see them having lots of fun with this in the pool ducking their heads under water, while still seeing above and they also use it to look underwater without getting wet – so fun! No bugs involved in this toy, it’s a keeper.

The next product we pulled out was the Field Cargo Vest. It was very cute and Kora & Logan took turns putting it on. As any true cargo vest should, it came with lots of pockets to keep safe all those precious rocks, sticks, and leaves the kids are always collecting. No bugs needed for this vest, we were still in the clear.

The last toy we pulled from the box was the Bug Wranglers Extreme Suction Bug Vacuum.

I was nervous because not only did it have the word “bug” in the name twice, it was obviously used to suck up those very creatures Kora & Logan are frightened of. Unfortunately, since the kids probably get their fear of bugs from me, I wasn’t too excited to give this one a try. We will be hanging on to it though and if our “scary bug” phases passes, I think Kora & Logan will love it. In the meantime, you can read a couple of great reviews about the bug vacuum by Babes and Kids and Thanks Mail Carrier.

If you’ve got outdoor adventurers and bug lovers, Backyard Safari products might further encourage them to stay off the couch and get outside. If this is the case let me know and I’ll be sure to send all of our bugs your way!
