Aloha Friday – Home Improvement

If money was no object, what home remodeling project would you start today?

Why does everything always seem to break at once? Currently our roof is leaking, our porch is crumbling, our vinyl siding was melted by the grill in one spot last summer and has multiple small holes in other randoms places, both cars need to see the mechanic, we need replacement windows, our washer won’t spin, the refrigerator ice maker stopped working, our stove is unbalanced, a couple walls need to be patched in places, and I won’t even start listing the half-done painting projects. Sigh. Home ownership is so fun.

At least the house looks nice when you don’t examine it too closely. It looks cute from the street, it’s decorated nicely, it provides warmth from the cold winter air, and it holds lots of wonderful family memories.

If money was no object and I could only do one project – I’d be really torn between fixing the roof and fixing the cars. What about you, what home remodeling project would you choose to start for your house?

Have you heard of Aloha Friday? According to Kailani at An Island Life, in Hawaii Aloha Friday is “the day that we take it easy and look forward to the weekend.”So every Friday we get a chance to take it easy on posting. Each participant asks their own simple question and then we visit each other’s blogs to comment on one another’s question.

Lucky for me, we don’t have any major problems right now! Just things I would like to change. I’ve caught spring fever or something because I’ve been painting like a crazy woman! I just finished painting the kitchen bright yellow last night. It makes me happy :) Now on to our bedroom! Happy Friday!

A new bathroom, then kitchen, then living room….then fix up the basement…then sell the house!!

It’s a long list of things that need to get done….guess I’ll go with the new roof.

  4. Stacie says:

I would rebuild the garage and put new siding on the garage and the house. The garage was eaten away at one side with the deck they put up between the house and garage. That was a nightmare in itself. We still have rocks to pick up in spring and refill the sunk hole along the house so it don’t leak.

    We need a new roof.

  6. We just remodeled two full baths ourselves. Next would be to remodel the kitchen, finish the basement, build a garage….

Oh, here’s a list for you.

Paint our room and bonus room.
    Completely redo the kitchen.
    Paint the bathrooms.
    New, double pane windows.
    New Hardi-plank siding.

    Aren’t you glad you asked?

if money were no object I would but a small addition on our house, we need more space, you know for all of my kiddos toys!

    Replacing the concrete driveway!

  14. Krissi says:

First, putting a washer and dryer on the 2nd floor where all our bedrooms are. And then beyond that, putting in a pool and changing up our deck to wrap around it.

Thankfully we dont have any physical issues that need to be fixed so mine would be purely cosmetic and Id love a kitchen makeover!
