Labor Day is almost around the corner and it’s the perfect time of year for one last family barbecue or picnic. I started searching online for recipes that would make any Labor Day cookout special. There are so many wonderful recipes out there it was hard to narrow it down! Here are a few of my favorite festive dishes that are sure to be full of flavor and fun.
Chicken Chorizo Kebabs
Nothing says Labor Day picnic or barbecue like a delectable kebab. My garden is currently overflowing with veggies and this appetizer would be the perfect way to start off our meal.

All American Potato Salad
This recipe offers the perfect compliment to the rest of the cookout. This can’t-miss buttery potato salad is a real crowd pleaser. The trick is in letting the potatoes stand in the red wine vinegar to absorb a bit of a tangy flavor.

Salsa Verde Burger with Fontina, Watermelon, & Basil
What a fantastic Summer combination! Watermelon and burgers. Never having had both together, but reading that the watermelon offers the same texture as a tomato but with additional sweetness, I’m intrigued and must try this!

Great ideas! Thanks for sharing
I don’t think I would ever have thought to put watermelon on a burger! But, after discovering how tasty homegrown tomatoes are, and their counterparts grainy and tasteless that just might be an interesting replacement!
